Weather Update: North Vietnam Braces for High Temperatures

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reports that all three regions will experience sunny weather with temperatures reaching around 32-33 degrees. In the Southern region, some areas may even exceed 34 degrees. Weather forecast for different regions Northwest region: The weather will be a mix of clouds and sun, with occasional rain during the night. The lowest temperature will range from 22-25 degrees, while the highest temperature will reach 29-32 degrees. Northeast region: The weather will be a combination of clouds and sun, with light rain at night. The lowest temperature ranges from 23-26 degrees, and in some mountainous areas, it may drop below 23 degrees. Green Heritage week to be held in Hanoi on Nov 21-25

Themed “Meeting of humans and nature”, the event aims to promote and honour natural heritage sites of Vietnam, especially those recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), the ministry said. It creates a chance for Vietnamese people, especially the youth, to show their responsibility, patriotism and pride for natural heritage sites, thereby, raising public awareness of the need to preserve biodiversity and prevent the impacts of climate change. The event also offers an opportunity for localities to exchange their experiences in preserving and upholding the values of natural heritage. A range of cultural activities will be held during the week, including a photo exhibition entitled “Vietnam’s Natural Heritage”. Vietnamese woman makes flowers from discarded fish scales

Quynh started to develop her interest in the craft after realizing the beauty of shiny fish scales discarded from the fish she used for cooking. “I started doing this in 2017, at first it was not easy, especially in purchasing the material,” she said.  “People were wary as they did not know what I would do with the discarded and stinky fish scales. “We took time to explain to the restaurants [where we came to buy fish scales] and they turned out to be supportive. “Now we have a stable source of materials.” Pham Nhu Quynh works on a product made from fish scales and other material. Srinagar : The youth of Jammu and Kashmir are now interested in business instead of being confined to government jobs. Not only this, the youth are now also trying to make their business unique by incorporating new and innovative ideas into their business. Where earlier the business was limited to only young boys, now young girls are also taking a keen interest in it. During the last few years, many women entrepreneurs have emerged from Jammu and Kashmir, especially the Kashmir Valley, who have received a lot of recognition at the local and national levels. A good example of this is Afshana Feroze Khan (25) from Srinagar who makes flower-shaped chocolates. Afshana’s flower-shaped chocolates are quite unique in the market which the buyers are purchasing in droves.
