Hanoi makes good use of heritage-based cultural industries

With abundant cultural resources, Hanoi’s heritage destinations have been constantly developing impressive and distinctive cultural products from their unique materials. Da Nang Int’l Fireworks Festival slated for mid-year

According to Sun Group, the 2023 DIFF is the main event of the ‘WOW Da Nang’ program, an integral initiative under the group’s ‘WOW Vietnam’ tourism campaign. The 2023 DIFF will be held on a stage along the bank of the Han River. The event will see participation from seven international pyrotechnic teams from the UK, Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, Finland, as well as a team from Da Nang. The Vietnamese and Finnish teams compete following the festival’s opening ceremony on June 3 evening. The teams from Canada and France hold their fireworks displays on June 10, while those from Australia and Italy have their turn on June 17, followed by Poland and England on June 24. Online Safety for Children More Imperative Than Ever

Building on an ongoing Plan International Vietnam-led project with Departmentsof Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs to prevent online violence against children in ethnic minority communities of Quang Binh and Kon Tum provinces, the project “Community-based Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSEA) Survivor Support Model (CBOCSS)” focuses on addressing the identified gaps in the child protection system to respond to Online child sexual exploitation and abuse (Online CSEA). By working with adolescents, schools, parents and service providers, the project will set up an innovative community-based survivor support model that will facilitate and increase the reporting of OCSEA and strengthen the quality of services for survivors. Local pieces of work at international art photo contest exhibited in Hanoi

Over 10,000 entries by 1,073 photographers from 32 countries and territories around the world are submitted to the contest, which ran for six months starting from September 12, 2022. It featured four topics, including colour freedom, monochrome freedom, children, and ideas. Vietnamese photographers won 45 prizes at the event, including four gold medals. Among them is a piece featuring childhood snapped by Nguyen Duc Nguyen in the colour freedom topic. A photo taken by Nguyen Huu Binh depicts farmers harvesting lilies. National flags of countries participating in the eighth Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival flutter amid the street festival. Singaporean flying noodles excite diners in Hanoi

Diners are excited to see the noodles floating around with the wooden chopsticks suspended in mid-air. The secret of this dish lies in the vertical stake positioned in the centre of the plate. The noodles are rolled around the chopsticks, concealing the vertical stake. Diners feel as if there is an invisible hand holding the noodles in the air.
