This is the first time Vietnam has achieved a first-place finish at a SEA Games edition that was not held on its home ground in the 64-year history of the event. On Tuesday, the nation added 12 more gold medals to its tally from wrestling, kickboxing, weightlifting, judo, boat racing, fencing, and dance sport, bringing its total to 136 gold, 105 silver, and 114 bronze medals. Commencing in July 2020, the project was aimed at conserving 500 deteriorated woodblock plates at the National Archives Center IV.  The initiative, which received more than US$88,000 in funding from the United States Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP), has now been completed.
